Supercomputing simulation employs 156,000 Amazon processor cores

Not that I’m ever going to need it but its nice to know that its available for the next big job I need done on a computer.  Amazon spread this job over 8 different regions at a cost of 33k for 18 hours.  A chemical analysis at a molecular level we are told it “lent itself nicely to being spread over multiple cores”.
At least they are finding uses for those unused processor cycles left over while the computers are lying idle.
